If your ZF automatic gearbox shows oozing from this part, it is essential to change it because the BVA will end up with an oil level that is too low.

Procedure for changing the sealing sleeve:
Disassembly:
1) Drain the transmission and remove the crankcase. If metal filter, also dismantle it.
2) Unplug the connector. Do not touch electrical contacts due to static electricity.
3) Pull the socket retaining system to the unlocked position.
The locking system is located on the lower part of the mechatronics below the sealing sleeve, inside the transmission housing (see image above).
4) Pull on the socket WITHOUT TURNING IT because it is equipped with a key which can cause damage to the contacts.
Reassembly:
1) Lubricate the bushing and O-rings and push it into place. Avoid rotating the socket as this could damage the connector pins. Do not force the sleeve. Once in place, check the correct alignment of the key .
2) Push the socket holding system towards the locked position.
3) Connect and lock the connector to the transmission.
4) Perform the oil filling procedure.
